Welcome to Technics newest recruits…

There’s no question that the last few months have been tough for most businesses, ours included. But we are delighted to be investing in a brighter future with the addition of 4 new recruits to the Technics team.

James Morrice has joined the team as a Senior Engineer leading the development of Technics’ new in-house Geoscience Department. This Department will be responsible for undertaking geotechnical and geoenvironmental site investigations and reports for clients on the ground conditions of their sites, enabling them to appropriately manage risks due to geology and contamination.

James said “I think the part I am most excited about is the challenge of setting the department up from new, taking what I’ve learnt previously – both as a site engineer and as a project manager – and joining it with Technic’s own ethos to provide pragmatic, value engineered solutions for our clients.”

Melissa Hicks has joined the team as our first dedicated Marketing Manager. Having worked in marketing for over 15 years, Melissa will be drawing on her experience to support the team in further developing client relationships and improving the overall sales process.

Melissa said “After a strange few months, I am delighted to be ending the year on a high by joining the Technics team. I was so impressed with Technics’ desire to continue growing the business, despite the current situation, and I am looking forward to playing my part in pushing the company forward.”

And finally, Alex Janes and Charlie Barras have both been brought in to the Utilities Department as Trainee Surveyors where they will gain an understanding of detection techniques, including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), PAS 128, drainage surveys and topographical survey techniques. Alex and Charlie will be learning the ropes alongside our experienced surveyors and we are looking forward to seeing their progression over the coming months.

These new recruits not only demonstrate our plans to grow the business, but also show our commitment to developing the industry’s next generation of surveyors.
