Installing an Irrigation Well

Earlier this year we were approached by a new client, a residential builder in Hampshire who needed our help with the construction and installation of an irrigation well.

Irrigation wells are becoming increasingly popular, not only as a more sustainable source of water, but also as a way of tackling the rising cost of water consumption.

Our client had demolished an old farm house and was in the process of rebuilding as a two story private dwelling. An irrigation well was required as a cheaper and more sustainable way of watering the land and crops around the property.

How we helped…

We were appointed to manage the construction and installation of the irrigation well and our first task was to carry out a 47m deep borehole using a sonic rig to drill the hole and install a PVC plastic pipe for the well.

Following the successful installation of the irrigation well, we were then required to carry out water sampling and laboratory testing of the water in the well to confirm whether it was safe for the intended purpose. The collected water samples were sent to a UKAS accredited laboratory to carry out the testing.

The results from the water samples were then shared with the client confirming that the water from the irrigation well is safe for both rural and industrial use.

Quick Turnaround…

This was a new client to Technics and we were delighted to be able to demonstrate to them our reliability and dedication to helping our clients move their projects forward. We understood that the project was working to tight deadlines, so despite only being instructed on the Thursday our team of experts were on site 5 days later to assist the client with this project.
