Exceeding expectations – our trainee surveyors pass probation

At Technics, recruiting and training the next generation of emerging talent is not only important for our business but also to the service we provide to clients.

With this in mind, we offer a training programme for future surveyors that can provide them with the qualifications needed to get in to this growing industry.

Alex Lewis and Dave Cooke joined Technics as a trainee surveyors, and three months on they have just finished their probation periods.

We asked them about their experience at Technics so far – here are their thoughts.

Both trainees had similar views on a number of aspects of the scheme. They enjoyed being out on site working with other surveyors, and having the opportunity to explore the sites and visit new places, as part of the training. Both also agreed that the first three months had exceeded their expectations, especially because they were able to get involved with a number of tasks and site visits.

Most importantly, both felt that Technics was living up to their values by being made to feel part of the team from the start. There was mutual respect between all the surveyors and trainees, and that there was a good working environment and atmosphere, both in the office and on site, as well.

Both trainees are like-minded in their ambitions at Technics and are aiming to become Junior Surveyors at their next review in March. A major goal for the next six months is for our trainees to begin the process towards chartership and start UAV developments as part of their training.

Alex (pictured right) said: β€œSince joining Technics, I have been welcomed and made to feel a part of the team from the start. Everyone in the company is polite, and there is a good working environment and atmosphere, not just in the office but on site as well.”

Dave (pictured below) added: β€œBeing able to work with a number of surveyors, I have been able to learn different techniques and ways of working which is a huge benefit to myself and to grow in myself and my skills.”

At Technics we thrive in an environment that is sociable, supportive and a lot of fun. So if you would like to talk to us about potential training opportunities contact us on 01483 230 080, email recruitment@technicsgroup.com or pop in for a coffee to meet the team.
