Technics Invest in Team Training Day on the Latest UAV Technology
Technics is committed to providing its clients with the best results by using the latest technology, playing an active role in supporting the development and improvement of the land surveyor industry.
As part of its technology evaluation programme, Technics selected two of its staff to attend an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) demonstration, hosted by GEO-4D.
The team were given the opportunity to see fist hand how the LA-300, a fixed wing, fully automated drone designed primarily for mapping purposes, works.
The UAV can carry a bottom mounted digital camera or a front mounted Go-Pro, depending on desired deliverables.
The day included a demonstration on how to plan a flight using ‘Operation Centre’, the dedicated software used to plan, monitor and control the flight, which can then be downloaded onto a tablet to take into the field.
A live flight was also carried out at the test site followed by an insight in to the processes involved in turning the data collected into the final product, in this case DTMs.
