Why Work for Technics?
The management team at Technics work hard to ensure we attract the very best people to join us. Here are just some of the reasons we think you should consider joining the team at Technics…
Without a doubt, the biggest asset we have at Technics is our people! Our people are more than just experts in their field, we genuinely believe we have the most supportive, fun and committed bunch of people working for us. Whether it’s a friendly ear, a word of advice or someone to bounce ideas off… there’s always someone available to lend a hand. Having great colleagues to work alongside really is important, and we can promise you we have that in abundance!
Training and Development
We value our team and invest in training and development from the moment they become an employee. We offer a tailored internal and external training programme including the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) that provides our surveyors with the qualifications needed to get in to this exciting industry and continually progress to the next level. Our comprehensive training and development programme provides a variety of hands on onsite and office-based experience. Nothing makes us happier than supporting our team to grow and become the best they can be.
We pride ourselves on giving job satisfaction to every one of our employees. Whether it be through the variety of work, career progression or recognition, we work hard to create an environment where the team feel happy and appreciated. But don’t just take our word for it, our recent blog article on ‘Happiness at Work’ showcases the satisfaction our employees get from being part of the team at Technics.
Recognising our employees is something we strive to do every day. Celebrating success, sharing positive feedback, recognition vouchers and promotions are all things we do regularly to demonstrate how much we value our staff. We also send out quarterly staff newsletters to share news and successes with the whole team, and of course we love the odd team social too! Just one of the ways we say thank you to everyone for their hard work and loyalty.
Tools to do the Job
We are committed to providing all employees with the necessary tools to do the job. We invest in new technology, equipment and training to not only provide the best service possible to our clients, but also to ensure our surveyors are constantly learning and developing at the same pace as this ever evolving industry.
We also take the safety of our staff seriously. We make sure all our surveyors are kitted out with the relevant PPE and we have strict health and safety procedures in place to ensure the safety of all staff members whilst carrying out their duties.
Where necessary, surveyors will be allocated the use of a company van, fuel card, laptop and mobile phone.
Technics is committed to improving the working lives of employees and helping them to achieve a happy work-life balance. Our approach to flexible working allows employees to find the right work-life balance for them and their circumstances. Where possible employees are given laptops and mobile phones to allow them to work more flexibly away from the office.
Upon joining Technics all employees are automatically enrolled in our company pension scheme. For us, it’s not just about looking after our employees whilst they are employed but it’s also about doing our bit to help them through retirement.
We pride ourselves on treating all employees equally and fairly. We always aim to recruit the best person for the job regardless of age, gender, background, beliefs and ethnicity. Appointments and promotions are therefore based solely on suitability, capability, qualifications and whether the individual fits with the Technics values and way of working.
When we say we take the safety of all staff seriously, we’re not just talking about their physical safety. The mental wellbeing of our people is every bit as important to us. We are always looking for ways we can incorporate wellbeing initiatives into our working life at Technics. We actively encourage the team to get away from their desks, get outdoors, breathe in the fresh air and clear their minds throughout the working day. After all a happy workforce is a productive workforce!
The past few months have been tough for everyone. As such we understand that job security has become increasingly important. We currently have a busy schedule of work for our surveyors, covering a range of both big and small projects, and we hope to see that continuing to grow in the future. Transparency is important to us at Technics, and we will always be open and honest with our employees when it comes to the future plans and workload for the business.
Supporting the Local Community
It’s not just about the service and projects we provide, our values and mission are equally important to us. None more so than our mission to build on our relationships with the community around us. As a team we get huge satisfaction from giving something back… whether it’s donating laptops to local schools and families, taking part in team charity challenges or supporting team members with their own charity endeavours… we will always offer support however we can.
