Mundays is a law firm based in Surrey and London, providing leading legal services to individuals, families and businesses. The firm appointed Technics in 2018 to help settle a number of boundary disputes, and has been working with the team ever since. We spoke with Partner James Picknell, who specialises in real estate litigation, to talk about his experience of working with the Technics team.

Why did you appoint Technics?

When I first worked with Technics they had already been retained by some of my clients. After our first project, I decided to use their services again because I found the team to be very professional and easy to work with. I also consider the detail of the plans which Technics produce to be of a high quality.

How have you worked together?

I have worked with Technics on four separate boundary disputes. Their expertise proved to be an invaluable part of progressing and resolving these cases; it is important to work with very detail-oriented partners in real estate litigation, and we look forward to working together on more cases.

How have you found the market in 2019? Any challenges? Surprises?

This year has been a very busy year so far for Mundays’ property litigation team, following an equally active 2018. We have already acted on a large number of boundary disputes and other private client property matters such as restrictive covenant disputes, rights of light and nuisance claims.

On the commercial side we have been involved in some significant dilapidation disputes for landlords and tenants of commercial properties. As a result of the increase in work over the last few years, we have recently recruited a solicitor to assist our specialist team.

What in your opinion will be the biggest challenge next year?

I suspect it will be the outcome of Brexit given the impact it is having and will continue to have across so many sectors.
