Technics invest in QCF qualifications

Technics is committed to the training and development of its employees and has recently invested in the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

12 of Technics’ surveying team have undertaken Level 3 and Level 5 of the QCF qualification for utility mapping surveyors. The qualification is run by Mapping, a specialist training provider that has one of the most advanced training and test facilities available in Europe dedicated to utility mapping.

This recognised, utilities industry qualification verifies and demonstrates the team’s understanding of the industry and enables them to work on Technics’ key accounts including Heathrow Airport Limited and Thames Water.

Level 3 helps surveyors identify and assess project requirements for site surveying, taking in to consideration specific priorities including cost, time and user requirements. It also includes information on how to plan the site surveying process and operations. Level 5 covers site surveying procedures for construction and the built environment, which enables surveyors to understand the principles of site surveying, the use of site surveying instruments, record readings, software and cartographic detailing.

John Macintyre, MD at Technics said: “We believe in the importance of training our employees to empower them and help them work to the best of their abilities and to provide our clients with a team that is knowledgeable and accredited. This investment is just one stage in our training programme and we have ongoing plans to continue the team’s development.”
