Client: Inspectech
Site: Villas, Jeddah, Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Type: Software and Training
Inspectech, our partners in the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, are using the very latest in GPR technology, the IDS STREAM MT. Supported and trained on site by Technics Group surveyors and using the latest version of the innovative Technics Group GPR data processing software suite RDxCAD, the new technology is proving to be a very cost effective solution.
Inspectech were approached to see if they could help with a construction project where recent floods had undermined a series of concrete slab foundations for 300 luxury villas. The villas, all practically finished, began to show signs of subsidence in the form of cracks within the walls and floors. Before the situation can be addressed properly and suitable remedial actions undertaken, the full extent of the problem must be defined. Using the new technique, Inspectech are scanning the floor areas with the 0.75m wide 900mhz array then imaging the results through RDxCAD. The results clearly show the problem areas along with all the services beneath the slabs. These are then highlighted and exported in 3D to an AutoCAD environment.
"The guidance and expertise provided by Technics Group proved a major turning point in detecting underground utilities for my organisation. The success behind this project is down to their professional approach to knowledge transfer, together with the combination of radio frequency locators, ground penetrating radar and Technics Group dedicated data analysis software. I look forward to further collaborations with Technics Group in future projects in this region."
