Reinstatement Checking

This product provides an accurate overview of a carriageway or footpath reinstatement following the installation of a new utility. A single service can be examined or, if required, an entire street, for all non-conforming reinstatements or utility installations.

Using the latest technology, combined with our in-house materials expertise, we are able to assess every part of a utility orientated reinstatement including:

  • Wearing course thickness and variations
  • Base course thickness and variations
  • Sub-base thickness and variations
  • Compaction compliance of sub-base materials
  • Material types and condition/specifications
  • Installed utility depth and variations
  • Exact route of installation (Even if the scar has been covered by resurfacing)
  • Compliance with the HAUC specification for the given pavement type.

Our methodology allows the entire installation to be assessed and, apart from a single initial core to calibrate to, only involves cores being taken in order to confirm gross non-compliance. This service can be used by contractors to “Quality” Stamp their work and ensure that their gangs are not leaving them with a future headache. Or, alternatively, by local authorities who are determined to recover some of the costs incurred through the damage that non-compliant reinstatements do to their carriageway structures.
