3D Laser Scanning is a relatively new method of survey data collection. The evolution of ‘Total Station' survey instruments has resulted in Laser Scanners that can survey entire building facades in a matter of minutes. Thousands of co-ordinated 3D laser points are automatically collected in seconds from a number of positions around the feature, which collectively are known as the “point cloud”. This cloud can then be reconstructed to give it a surface and rendered with colour or images added to give a realistic texture to the 3D model.
Technics Group uses this technology to capture data for a multitude of purposes.
We can provide you with:-
- Buildings or structures as a point cloud data file
- 2D plans, sections and elevations derived from the data
- 3D models either rendered or wire frame
